We provide voluntary services, such as transport to surgeries and hospitals, simple DIY, visiting and a weekly Lunch Club, for people in the village who have needs caused by age, ill-health, disability or inadequate resources.

We usually need several days notice to find a volunteer, but we are always happy to try - especially if you have just been told of an important appointment.

When you call the helpline...
We take down the details of your request and then send a text, with brief details, to some of our volunteers. The first volunteer to respond is given the full details and contacts the client.
If no one responds after a few hours, we send a text to another group of volunteers until we find a volunteer who can take the job.
Sometimes we have to tell the client that no one is available, which is why we need more volunteers.
Unlike most volunteering, you don't have to commit to regular days or times. You decide about each request as the text arrives.
